MEMBERSHIP: LEVELS OF MEMBERSHIP | HOW TO JOIN Levels of MembershipBeing a member of Junior Service Club of St. Clair County has many benefits. There is the intrinsic feeling of helping those less fortunate or in need with hands on volunteer service. Membership in the Club offers the opportunity to become acquainted and work with people in the community who you may never have had a chance to meet. Friendships, many lifelong, develop working along side members on projects and participating in community service. JSC attracts a wide array of women, from working professionals to stay-at-home mothers. Many members have found Junior Service Club not only to be a very rewarding outlet for their time but also an invaluable way to enhance their current career skills or maintain their professional talents. There is a commitment of eight (8) years; pending you do not seek the Presidential position. The first year is considered your "Provisional" year; your "Active" years begins thereafter for six (6) years, and your seventh year is "Participating" followed by the honorable "Sustaining" membership status; a total commitment of eight (8) years.
Provisional Member –
Active Members –An Active member is a current resident of St. Clair County and entitled to all privileges of membership, assumes all responsibilities assigned to her, and meets all work requirements. This active membership shall begin at the May Dinner Meeting, upon completion of the provisional term. Inactive Members -
Participating Members –
Life Members - A Life member has been Active for twelve (12) years and has been an actively supportive member of the Club for an additional eight (8) years. Nonresident Members - A Nonresident member is an Active or Participating member who has moved beyond the limits of St. Clair County and who has requested reclassification. A Nonresident member may attend meetings with no voting privileges and is relieved of all responsibility except the payment of dues. A Nonresident member may request reclassification to Active or Participating (if eligible) membership upon return to the area. Sustaining Nonresident Members - A Sustaining Nonresident member is a member who has met all requirements for Sustaining status but has moved beyond the limits of St. Clair County and who has requested reclassification. A Sustaining Nonresident member may attend meetings with no voting privileges and is relieved of all responsibility except for payment of dues.
